What is Google Adsense and How It works

Google AdSense is a part of Google.com that allows people as well as different organizations to place their advertisements on different websites or blogs such that the advertisements are targeted to the specific people.

These advertisements are collected, maintained and placed on other websites by Google. The websites, who place these advertisements on their page, get paid by Google either on per click basis or per impression basis.

Google AdSense was launched in March 2003 and was made public in June 2003. In 2004, Google allowed its advertisers to opt out for their own advertisements, which are related to their website. In 2009, Google announced a new feature i.e. ‘enable multiple networks to display ads’. Today, Google AdSense has become the most popular advertising network on the internet.

Now, Google AdSense is available for mobile sites as well as YouTube channels also. It is one of the hassle-free ways to make money online. To get a continuous and stable income from Google AdSense, one must have good traffic, well website optimization and much more on his/her website or blog.

How Google AdSense works?

People or organizations, who want to show their advertisements on different websites/blogs, submit their advertisements through Google AdWords and pay to Google for pacing their ads.

Website owners and bloggers, who want to earn through Google AdSense apply for it using their blogs or websites.

After getting approved by Google AdSense, the Website owners or bloggers just place a simple JavaScript code on their page, and Google places the advertisements submitted by AdWords on the websites.

Each time the page is visited; the inserted JavaScript code runs and displays the content fetched from the Google servers. In this way, the ads are displayed on the page and the page owner gets paid by Google. This payment is done on paid per click (PPC) or paid per impression (PPI) basis.

There are many spamming websites on the internet which contain the content of no use along with Google ads. Many of them also contain sexually abusive content also to attract the visitors. Such websites are considered as Search Engine Spams and hence anyone can report about them to Google.

There has been many criticism and other legal issues with Google AdSense in the past 10 years. There have been many complaints stating that the publishers from Asia are treated differently as compared to the publishers from USA. There have been many cases related to fraud AdSense accounts also. Some complaints on invalid and fraud clicks were also reported. In spite of these all issues, Google AdSense is going well and is the mostly preferred advertising network on the internet by webmasters and publishers.
